More charges for local man in harassment investigation

On June 12, 2023, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person again in relation on-going to harassment at a residence on Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake.

On May 27, 2023, multiple harassment related occurrences by a known person were reported to police. The person was subsequently arrested and charged with numerous offences at that time.

On June 12, [it is alleged that] that same person continued to call the complainant numerous times, breaching a ‘no contact’ condition from a previous release document.

Peter (Joseph) Kearsley, 28 years old from Elliot Lake, was charged with:
    •    Criminal harassment - repeatedly communicate
    •    Failure to comply with undertaking (six counts)

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on June 13, 2023.
