Charges laid following harassment complaints on Washington Crescent

27-year-old man allegedly harassed the victim on multiple occasions over the past couple of days, police say

A 27-year-old man faces harassment charges following multiple complaints at a residence on Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake.

The victim reported that a person known to them harassed them multiple times over the past couple of days, police say. The officers spoke to the accused on two occasions and asked him not to return to the residence. However, the male returned and is alleged to have threatened the victim before leaving in a pickup truck. 

Police located the pickup truck on May 27 and arrested the accused male. 

Peter (Joseph) Kearsley, 27, from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm (two counts)
  • Criminal harassment - repeatedly communicate (two counts)
  • Enter premises when entry prohibited

Kearsley is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 10, according to police.
