The human remains located April 18 in Espanola have been confirmed to be that of a missing man, Glenn Ward, 53, of Espanola.
Ward had been missing for some time. Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police said it was notified the morning of Jan. 10, 2023, that the man had not been seen since Dec. 9, 2022, when he was spotted walking along Queensway Avenue in Espanola.
On April 18, officers were dispatched to a wooded area off the Queensway after a member of the public notified police. The body was later identified as that of Ward.
No foul play is suspected in Ward's death, the OPP said.
