OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks signed free-agent defensive lineman A.C. Leonard and defensive back Loucheiz Purifoy to one-year contracts Tuesday. Leonard, 26, spent the last two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

HAMILTON — Ted Laurent is staying put. The burly defensive tackle signed a two-year contract extension with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Tuesday. The CFL club announced the deal minutes after the noon ET start of the league's free-agent period.

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Canadian offensive lineman Dan Clark to a two-year contract extension and signed defensive lineman Zack Evans on Tuesday.

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos dipped into the free-agent waters Tuesday to sign defensive lineman Alex Bazzie. The Eskimos announced Bazzie signed a deal through the 2019 season.

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts signed defensive backs Jermaine Gabriel and Johnny Sears Jr. to one-year contract extensions through the 2018 season Tuesday.

Toronto FC signed defender Auro Alvaro da Cruz Junior on loan Tuesday. The deal will take the 22-year-old Brazilian player, who's known simply as "Auro," from the Brazilian club Sao Paulo FC with an option to buy.
