Council to receive final draft strategic plan Monday evening

City's current strategic plan is undated but at least seven years old

The final draft strategic plan will be presented to council Monday evening by consultant, Tim L. Dobbie.

Dobbie shared an earlier draft strategic plan with the public at four open house sessions hosted at the Elliot Lake Public Library, Aug. 29 and 30.

During an online reader's poll conducted by ElliotLakeToday in early September, 15 per cent of responding readers were satisfied with the August draft strategic plan and 74 per cent dissatisfied.

Only one action item is modified in the new final draft. The other 21 action items remain the same as the August version however, Dobbie has included the resident’s comments on each slide.

The new final draft presentation is on the Elliot Lake city website here.

Elliot Lake’s strategic plan is a document used by city staff as a guide for recommendations to the council. It can have a long life. The city's current strategic plan is undated but at least seven years old.

Residents who wish to address the council during the public input session may contact the municipal clerk before 12 noon on Monday by emailing [email protected] to register to speak for up to two minutes.
