Three candidates meetings upcoming

The debates are in Espanola, Manitoulin Island, and Elliot Lake

Ahead of the upcoming October federal election, there will be back to back.all candidate's meetings in the riding of Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing (A-M-K) for three consecutive nights, running from Tuesday through Thursday next week. They have been set up in Espanola, on.Manitoulin Island and in Elliot Lake.

On Tuesday, Oct, 1, Moose FM in Espanola is sponsoring an all candidate's meeting with the five candidates running for the seat in A-M-K. There, they'll be taking part in their first local debate. 

The radio station and the Espanola Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 have partnered to host the Meet the Candidates Night. Doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. at the Legion at 370 Annette Street with the debate beginning at 7 p.m.. Each candidate will have two minutes to introduce themselves and then respond to questions from the floor.

The five candidates running in the vast riding are incumbent Carol Hughes (NDP), Heather Wilson (Liberal), Dave Williamson (Conservative), Max Chapman (The Green Party) and Dave Delisle of the People's Party of Canada (PPC).

Wednesday, Oct. 2, there's another all candidates meeting sponsored by the Manitoulin Expositor. The meeting is being held at 7 p.m. at Manitoulin Secondary School, 107 Bay Street, in M'chigeeng, off Highway 540, southwest of Little Current.

Third, on Thursday night, the Elliot Lake Standard is sponsoring an all candidate's meeting in Elliot Lake's Moose Family Centre, 26 Oak Boulevard. The doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. A question and answer session with the candidates will start at 7 p.m.and wrap up at 9 p.m.

The voters go to the polls to elect one of the five hopefuls on.Oct. 21.
