Woman charged with theft under $5,000: police

A 29-year-old from Elliot Lake has been charged with theft under $5,000 after East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police were called to an occurrence at a grocery store on Hillside Drive South.

The complainant reported that a female had food in her possession and departed the store without paying for it. Police subsequently arrested the woman, according to a news release.    

Maigen Prisque of Elliot Lake is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 5.
