Verbal dispute leads to rock thrown through window: OPP

On April 19, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m. members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to mischief related occurrence at an apartment on Dunn Road in Elliot Lake.

The complainant reported having a verbal dispute with a family member.  After leaving the apartment, the person proceeded to throw a rock at the window causing it to shatter and make a hole.    

On April 21, 2022, Adam Smyth, 29 years-old, from Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with:

• Mischief - Destroys or damages property, contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 7, 2022.
