Two charged with assault in unrelated domestic incidents

ESPANOLA - On Nov. 10, 2019, officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Sudbury-Manitoulin Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Espanola, Ont.

Officers arrested and charged a 39-year-old from Espanola, for assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on in Espanola.

On Nov. 11, 2019 officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the OPP responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Espanola.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old from Espanola, has been charged with:

  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the CC;
  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, Ont.
