Two charged after drug warrant executed in Elliot Lake

The Ontario Provincial Police made two arrests Oct. 2 following the execution of a Controlled Dugs and Substances Act warrant at an apartment on Beckett Boulevard in Elliot Lake, according to a news release.

Approximately 384 grams of suspected crack cocaine with a street value of about $77,000), nunchucks, a digital scale, packaging material (dime bags), approximately $2,700 in cash, and four cell phones were seized, the release added.

Brandon MacDonald, 36, of Elliot Lake was charged with:

  •  Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • ·Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • ·Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Tevontay Reid, 28, of no fixed address was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Breach of recognizance (two counts)

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Jan. 11, 2024.
