Suspicious person call leads to charges in Webbwood: OPP

The 22-year-old faces multiple charges

WEBBWOOD — On March 23, 2022 at approximately 9:58 p.m. the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of suspicious persons on O'Neil Street in Webbwood.

Officers patrolled the area and were able to locate the individuals matching the description provided by the complainant. One of the individuals was currently on conditions not to be out of their residence. The individual was subsequently arrested. 

Jonathon Bois, 22-years-old from Webbwood was charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order - Other Than to Attend Court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) (four counts)
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC

The accused was held for a bail hearing March 24, 2022 and was remanded into custody.
