A traffic stop in Blind River has led to the arrest of one person from Spanish after officers located suspected crystal methamphetamine.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon on Causley Street.

BLIND RIVER - On Feb. 13, 2024, the OPP's Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) unit was on patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.
Shortly after 3 p.m., police observed a westbound blue pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed on Causley Street. Police initiated a traffic stop as the pickup truck turned onto Hawkins Street.
A query revealed the driver was wanted and was arrested for the outstanding warrant. Police then conducted a search and located over two grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine ($300 street value) and the driver was transported to Blind River detachment for further processing.
As a result, Steven Miller, 63 years of age from Spanish, was charged with:
• Possession of a Schedule I Substance - methamphetamine
• Driver fail to surrender licence
• Fail to have insurance card
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on April 4, 2024.
