Suspect charged with trespassing at night, theft

28-year-old also charged with failure to comply with probation order

On Nov. 26, at approximately 7:15 a.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police received a call regarding a person entering vehicles on Denison Road in Elliot Lake.

The complainant recognized the person and police were familiar with them. 

At approximately 7:25 a.m. police located the person on Mississauga Avenue and the suspect was subsequently arrested.

Cody Everton, 28, of Elliot Lake is charged with:

  • Trespassing at Night, contrary to section 177 of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Theft Under $5,000 (three counts), contrary to section 334(b) of the CC
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River Nov. 27.
