The Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a 61-year-old Sudbury woman after a five-month investigation into the theft of lottery tickets.

In July, the OPP say they received a tip from forensic investigators at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) “concerning suspicious transactions involving lottery tickets at a retailer outlet in Sudbury.”

Police have not released further details about the transactions, including the dollar amount.

Nicole Fex is charged one count of theft over $5,000. She was released from custody and is due back in court at a later date.

The charge has not been tested in court and Fex is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
