SABLES-SPANISH RIVERS TOWNSHIP - A stolen vehicle has been recovered following a single motor vehicle collision.
On April 30, 2023 shortly before 12 p.m., members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Hoogeveen Road in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township. A member of the public located a white van in the ditch and observed the driver walking away from the scene.
Police were able to locate the driver and later determined that the vehicle was stolen.
As a result, Patrick Soucy, 32 years old from Espanola, was charged with:
• Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
• Drive motor vehicle - no licence
• Careless driving
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on June 12, 2023.
