On April 20, 2020 at approximately 11:15 a.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a wanted person call at an office on Philip Walk in Elliot Lake.
During the police interaction, the person discharged a firearm and was fatally injured.
The OPP has notified the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate.
As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information.
