Ringing doorbells leads to trespassing charges for local resident

On April 3, 2022 at approximately 8:30 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received numerous calls regarding a suspicious person ringing doorbells on Farquhar Place in Elliot Lake.

One complainant recognized the person and police were familiar as well. At approximately 9:10 p.m. police located the person who was subsequently arrested.

Cody Everton, 27 years old from Elliot Lake, was charged with Trespassing at Night, contrary to section 177 of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 3, 2022.
