RIDE check leads to charge for Blind River driver

On March 30, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check program on Pearson Drive and Mississauga Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake, Ont. 

A vehicle was stopped a male driver was found to be in contravention of release conditions. As a result, the male was arrested and charged.

Dwayne McLeod, 45 years of age, of Blind River, Ont., was charged with:

  • Fail to comply with conditions of undertaking given by officer in charge, contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River, Ont. on March 31, 2018.
