The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police have made an arrest after another residential break and enter in Elliot Lake earlier today, one of a series of break-ins that prompted a warning to homeowners.

On Jan. 2 at around 10:45 a.m. police were called to a residential break, enter and theft on Lakeview Road.

The suspect had fled on foot and a description was provided to police, according to an OPP news release.

A short time later the suspect was located on Valley Crescent and arrested.

Dale Boyer, 49, of Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Break, enter dwelling house - commit indictable offence
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 (two counts)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on Jan. 3.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Boyer is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
