Police investigate fire at abandoned house in Blind River

On March 12, 2020, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police Detachment and the Blind River Fire Department responded to a fire at an abandoned house at 139 Leacock St. in the Town of Blind River.

At approximately 7:47 p.m., two males between the ages 15 and 20 years of age were seen leaving the burning house at 139 Leacock St. They continued walking eastbound on Leacock Street then walked northbound into an abandoned lot. 

  • Both males had a medium build
  • Both males were wearing what is described as snowmobile jackets
  • One male wearing a black and white coat; and
  • The other male was wearing black and orange coat.

The Ontario Fire Marshall will be attending the scene on this morning.

The investigation is continuing.
