OPP investigating 'sudden death' in Elliot Lake

Police are probing a sudden death in Elliot Lake.

On Sept. 9 at around 1:15 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police and Algoma Paramedic Services responded to an unresponsive person call at a residence on Frobel Drive.

A 66-year-old was found to be deceased at that location prior to emergency services arriving, the OPP said in a news release.

The cause of death is not known at this time, police said. 

An investigation is being conducted by the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in Sault Ste. Marie, according to police.
