OPP hosts SafeGuard Ontario information sessions in Blind River

The OPP Auxiliary Program will host a a small business SafeGuard Ontario information session in Blind River on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Two afternoon sessions will take place at 2 and 4 p.m. at École Secondaire Catholique Jeunesse Nord, 117 Youngfox Rd.

BLIND RIVER - On Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police will be teaming up with members from the OPP Auxiliary Program for a small business SafeGuard Ontario information session.

Utilizing a problem-oriented policing approach, SafeGuard Ontario public awareness and education initiatives are supported through its Property Security Reviews of homes and small businesses by OPP Auxiliary members specially trained through the program. SafeGuard Ontario training provides an orientation to the basic principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) with a primary focus on target hardening techniques to help reduce or prevent re-victimization of property crimes.

The education initiative will take place at:
    •    École Secondaire Catholique Jeunesse Nord
    •    117 Youngfox Rd.
    •    Blind River
    •    Two afternoon sessions are scheduled at 2 and 4 p.m.
