One charged after fire alarm pulled in Elliot Lake apartment complex

One person is facing charges after a fire alarm was pulled in an Elliot Lake apartment complex.

The false alarm went off in the basement level of a building on Mississauga Avenue Sunday evening.

“The person was caught on building security cameras,” said OPP in a news release. “It was also later learned that the same person had entered the building by breaking in through a ground level apartment. “

Police located a suspect hitchhiking on Highway 108 in Elliot Lake.  

Gavin Belsito-Nolan, 31, of Blind River has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • False alarm of fire

The accused is scheduled to appear in Blind River court today.
