Northern sledder killed in collision with tree

Police say 51-year-old snowmobile rider, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, lost control and struck a tree near the 'A' snowmobile trail in Temagami

A snowmobiler was killed yesterday after colliding with a tree in Temagami.

At 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Temiskaming OPP were dispatched to a serious accident on Wilson Lake Road near the "A" snowmobile trail in Temagami. 

The rider of a snowmobile lost control and struck a tree, police say.

The 51-year-old person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision remains under investigation by members of the Temiskaming OPP and the Northeast Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.
