North Shore man charged with driving while suspended

Police stopped a minivan on Highway 17 after witnessing it driving in a suspicious manner

BLIND RIVER - On Aug. 31, 2018 at approximately 5 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17 in the Township of the North Shore, Ont.

Police observed a minivan operating in a suspicious manner. A subsequent traffic stop was conducted and investigation revealed the driver was suspended. This resulted in the male driver charged and his vehicle was towed.

Lucien Salvador, 69 years of age, from the North Shore Township, Ont. was charged with:

  • Driving while suspended, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, Ont. on Oct. 31, 2018.
