ESPANOLA - On Oct. 30, 2022 at 11:30 a.m., the Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence on O'Neil Street in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township to investigate a reported assault.
The investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place between neighbours and one person sustained minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Victor Lajeunesse, 46 years old from Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, was arrested and charged with:
• Unlawfully in dwelling house contrary to section 349(1) of the Criminal Code (CC)
• assault with a weapon contrary to section 267(a) CC
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on Dec. 5, 2022.
