Man found driving with suspended licence

TOWNSHIP OF THE NORTH SHORE – On May 23, 2020, at approximately 11:45 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle travelling southbound on Hwy 108.   

Police located the vehicle at the junction of Hwys 108 and 17 and initiated a traffic stop. The driver could not produce a valid driver's licence. A query revealed the driver was suspended.  

As a result of the investigation, Richard Lizotte, age 66, from Elliot Lake, was charged with: Driving While Suspended, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.  

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 15, 2020.
