On Nov. 16, 2017, at approximately 10:08 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a family dispute call at a residence on Laprairie Crescent in Elliot Lake.
The complainant had gone to a neighbour's house to call police. She stated that her son had threatened her with a knife and had caused damage inside the residence. The male was located a short time later and subsequently arrested.
Jefferson Stark, 54 years of age, of Elliot Lake, Ont., was charged with:
- Mischief under $5,000, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Assault with a weapon (two counts), contrary to section 267(a) of the CC
- Forcible confinement, contrary to section 279(2) of the CC
- Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC
- Assault causing bodily harm, contrary to section 267(b) of the CC
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River, Ont. on Nov. 17, 2017.
