A man is facing several charges after Ontario Provincial Police allege he refused to leave a elderly tenant’s Blind River apartment.

Officers were called to Hudson Street just after 1 a.m. Friday.

They say the senior tried to go for help several times but was “pushed back down forcefully in their wheelchair.”

The suspect – who isn’t a resident of the apartment complex – was gone by the time police arrived.

The accused was spotted by police shortly after 1:30 a.m. walking southbound on Woodward Avenue.

Eric Duguay, 39, of Blind River has been charged with forcible confinement, assault and failing to comply with a probation order

The accused is scheduled to appear in an Elliot Lake court on February 1.
