On Sept. 12, 2023, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person in relation to a fire alarm call at an apartment complex on Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake.
On Sept. 6, 2023, at approximately 3:15 a.m. the Elliot Lake Fire Department notified police of the fire alarm being pulled at the apartment building when there was no actual fire. Video surveillance was reviewed and after investigation one person arrested and charged.
Aaron Alkins, 53 years old, from Elliot Lake was charged with - false alarm of fire, contrary to section 437 of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Oct. 10, 2023.
