Lisbon Road fire deemed suspicious: OPP

Police say the fire looked to be deliberately set, unknown person(s) vacated the property before emergency services arrived

On Nov. 19, 2021 at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a fire at a vacant building on Lisbon Road in Elliot Lake.

The Elliot Lake Fire Department were in attendance to extinguish the fire. The fire looked to be deliberately set and unknown person(s) vacated the property prior to the arrival of emergency services. The Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
