Iron Bridge man faces impaired charges

On July 9, 2020, shortly after 10:30 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a traffic complaint involving a car all over the road on Highway 17 west of Blind River.

Police located the vehicle on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River and initiated a traffic stop. While speaking to the driver, the officer determined alcohol had been consumed. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested, driver's license suspended, and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

David Rosenberg, age 50, of Iron Bridge, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and with
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Aug. 20, 2020.
