Iron Bridge driver charged following Highway 17 crash

MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES - On March 9, 2020 shortly after 3 p.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Algoma Paramedic Services and the Municipality of Huron Shores Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 east of the Village of Iron Bridge.

A car travelling westbound on Highway 17 crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound pickup truck.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the car Myrna Barager, 58 years of age from Iron Bridge, Ont., was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with careless driving contrary to section 130(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was transported to local hospital by Algoma Paramedic Services with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed.
