Hockey mom accused of assaulting another parent

After allegedly assaulting another parent at an arena in Sturgeon Falls March 2, a 40-year-old woman is facing several charges. 

Provincial police report they responded to a disturbance at the Marcel and Jane Labbé Arena shortly before 1:30 p.m. on March 2.

It was reported that after an earlier hockey game on that same day, a parent from an opposing team had assaulted another parent with a solid object in their hand. Minor injuries were reported by the victim.

As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old Markstay-Warren woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and mischief - destroys or damages property.

The accused is scheduled to appear in North Bay court April 4.
