ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE

MASSEY, ON - On Nov. 22, 2019, at approximately 8:09 p.m., members from the Manitoulin (Espanola) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a stolen vehicle in Massey, Ontario.
Information was received that the vehicle had since been in a collision on Pleasant Valley Road in the Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.
As a result of the investigation, Patrick Heeley, age 48, of Espanola, Ontario has been arrested and charged with the following:
- Theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle contrary to section 334(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
- Uttering threats - damage to property contrary to section 264.1(1)(b) of the CC.
The accused was held for bail before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury. He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on Dec. 16, 2019.
