Espanola driver charged with impaired

ESPANOLA - On Thursday, June 28, 2018 an officer from the Manitoulin-Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks on Lee Valley Road in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, Ont.

At approximately 3:54 p.m., the officer checked a pick-up truck and determined that the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage.

As a result of the investigation, Jay Jordan, age 35 of Espanola, Ont. has been charged with:

  • Driving with over 80 mg of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, Ont. on Aug. 13, 2018.
