Elliot Lake teen accused of being 'belligerent and uncooperative' with police following family dispute

On April 6, 2020, at approximately 2:15 a.m. members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police responded to a family dispute call on Joubin Road in Elliot Lake.

The complainant reported that they had just been assaulted by a family member who was very intoxicated. Police attended and arrested the accused. Once back at detachment, the accused caused damage to the cellblock area continued to be belligerent and uncooperative with police. 

Caleb Watson, 19 years of age, from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 7, 2020.
