Around 11:30 p.m., officers observed a vehicle running in a parking lot in the 0-100 block of Bay Street. At the time, a man got out of the driver’s seat, urinated and then got back into the vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Upon speaking with the driver, officers identified him, and developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drug. The accused completed a standardized field sobriety test as well as a drug recognition evaluation, performing poorly at each. He was arrested.

He is charged with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs, and possession of a controlled substance. He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 4, 2021.
