BLIND RIVER - On March 28, 2018, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police were on patrol duties on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly before 11 a.m., police observed a vehicle on Causley Street and ran its licence plate. A traffic stop was initiated and the female driver could not produce valid insurance for the vehicle. 

As a result of the investigation, Emilie Chasse, 67 years of age from Spanish, Ont. was charged with: operate motor vehicle - no insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on June 20, 2018.
