Driver nabbed for speeding on Hwy. 17 — four times in 12 hours

'There is no need for driving behaviour like this...Please SLOW DOWN'

THUNDER BAY — Ontario Provincial Police have published some details about the astonishing behaviour of one motorist.

According to an OPP Northwest Region message posted on social media, officers stopped the same individual for speeding on Highway 17 — no fewer than four times within a period of just 12 hours.

Radar tracked the driver, whose age and hometown have not been disclosed yet, at speeds up to 138 km/h.

In addition to speeding charges, the person was charged for not stopping at a stop sign.

"The driver had to get a hotel for the night" and "is now required to appear in court to answer to the charges," OPP stated.

The message added: "There is no need for driving behaviour like this...Please SLOW DOWN."

Police photos show a vehicle pulled over near Red Rock before it was taken off the road and put onto a flatbed tow truck.

An OPP spokesperson was unable to immediately provide additional information when contacted Wednesday by TBnewswatch.
