On Oct. 30, 2017 at 9:26 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members were on regular patrol duties on Highway 108 and Esten Dr. N., in the City of Elliot Lake.
Police observed a southbound vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was not insured.
Carmen Candler, 57 years of age, from Spanish, Ont., was charged with:
- Operate motor vehicle on a highway - no insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Jan. 3, 2018.
