Driver allegedly speeding caught without insurance in Blind River, police say

Police say that the 21-year-old Chelmsford driver could not produce proof of insurance

BLIND RIVER - On March 16, 2020, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were on patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m., police observed a westbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Causley Street and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver could not provide proof of insurance for the vehicle being operated.

As a result of the investigation, Adam Marcil, 21 years of age from Chelmsford, Ontario, was charged with: operate motor vehicle-no insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on June 10, 2020.
