FRENCH RIVER - On March 9, 2021 at 9:39 p.m., members from the Nipissing West (Noëlville) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Highway 64 in French River.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old person from French River, was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief - domestic, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code (CC);
- Assault - spousal, contrary to section 266 of the CC; and
- Failure to comply with undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the CC.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in April 2021 in Sudbury.
The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
