Domestic dispute call leads to charge for Elliot Lake man

On Jan. 27, 2018, at 8:23 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Mississauga Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake, Ont. 

Investigation revealed that an argument ensued between a male and female at their residence and the male had made threats with a knife. 

The 36-year-old male from Elliot Lake, Ont. was arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm - spousal (four counts), contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River, Ont. on Jan. 28, 2018. The OPP will not be releasing the name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
