Deceased identified in suspicious fire investigation

East Algoma OPP have released the identity of the victim of a suspicious fatal fire that occurred on Feb. 6 on Mississagi Bay Road in Huron Shores, located between Iron Bridge and Blind River.

The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Dwayne Kozuch.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact the OPP by phone at 1-888-310-1122.

The individual, located deceased following a suspicious structure fire in Huron Shores has now been identified as 51-year-old Dwayne Kozuch.

On Feb. 6, 2023 shortly after 9 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment responded to the fire on Mississagi Bay Road.

The East Algoma OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation with assistance from the OPP's Forensic Identification Services Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, and in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Marshal and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
