Charges laid in Blind River break and enter

Police say chain saws and hand tools were stolen

BLIND RIVER - On July 25, 2021, shortly after 3:45 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter to a garage on West Street in the Town of Blind River.

Investigation determined several items, including chain saws and hand tools were stolen and later located by police in a wooded area next to the residence. A security camera captured a photograph of the person responsible for the break and enter. The person was known to the victim and police.

On Aug. 6, 2021, at approximately 12:04 p.m., police located the accused outside an apartment complex on West Street and was arrested.

As a result, Danielle Bissaillion, 32 years of age from Blind River was charged with:

  • Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence, contrary to section 338(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Oct. 7, 2021, 2021 and was remanded into custody.
