The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proud to celebrate Police Week, which runs May 14 - 18, 2018.

Every hour of every day of the year in Canada from coast to coast, approximately 60,000 police officers risk their lives to ensure our safety. The ‘call of duty’ is one of the main reasons why these men and women in uniform do what they do every day.

From traffic offences to home invasions, violent crimes to family disputes, what would we do if we could not count on our police officers? What a country it would be without peace and order.

Because they put their lives on the line for us every single day, a big thank you goes out to all police officers. Their dedication and hard work is greatly appreciated.

Locally in Elliot Lake, on May 16, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a free event at the Collins Hall to celebrate Police Week. Numerous community partners will be present inside and outside to showcase resources available to the East Algoma area. There will also be a BBQ and kids activities throughout the day. Everyone is welcome!
