Cambridge man charged in Webbwood break and enter

ESPANOLA – On April 21, 2020, members from the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a break and enter to a residence in Webbwood. Officers received information that the break and enter occurred sometime between Feb. 22 and April 21, 2020.   

The complainant reported that multiple items of property totalling over $50,000 had been stolen from their residence.  

As a result of the investigation, Alexander Bartolo, 49-years-old, from Cambridge, has been charged with:    

  • Fraud Over $5,000, contrary to section 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); 
  • Public Mischief, contrary to section 140(1)(c) of the CC.  

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, on July 20, 2020.
