On June 15, 2020 at approximately 3:10 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and subsequently conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 108 in Elliot Lake.

Police spoke to the driver who identified them self with a valid driver's license. However, the driver could not produce the vehicle documents. While the driver was looking for documents, police observed a person in the backseat attempting to hide on the floor. After further investigation, it was learned that the passenger was currently on bail conditions. One of those conditions was not to be with the driver.

As a result, the passenger was arrested and charged.
