98-year-old killed at northern Ontario long-term care home

The OPP has launched a homicide investigation after a 98-year-old was found dead at a long-term care facility in Iroquois Falls.

Police say the victim died "as a result of an earlier interaction between two tenants" at the unnamed facility.

The death was reported Wednesday shortly before 10 p.m.

The OPP has not released the gender of the victim and at this point, no charges have been laid.

The homicide investigation was initiated by the South Porcupine OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO).
